Heather Agnes Hayward passed away on December 19, 2001 at the age of 70. She is survived by her loving husband, Bud; and her children: Dana & Simon Everett, of Tenterden, Kent, Dawn & Jed Radau of Rocky Mtn. House, Alberta, Carolyn & Briss Taylor of Courtenay, and Janice & Ron Harris of Victoria; as well as 6 grandchildren: Peter & Brenda Scott, Stewart, Meghan, Jesse, Holly & Chloe; and 1 greatgrandchild, Rayna. Heather is also survived by her 2 sisters: Doris Christensen of Campbell River, Corlie & Jim Crouch of Chemainus, and her 2 brothers: Don & Marlyn Wiggins of Thunder Bay, and Mervin & Peggy Wiggins of North Vancouver, and her brother’s widow, Marion Wiggins. She was predeceased by her parents, Alec & Corlie Wiggins & her brother, Wally Wiggins, and by her first husband Ted Williams. Heather was born in Ochre River, Manitoba on December 14, 1931. The family moved to Willow Point when she was in her teens. She lived and worked in Victoria before she settled in Royston. “Honey” as the grandchildren called Heather, loved her family, gardening, photography, and traveling, just to name a few of her many interests, because most of all she loved life and lived it to the fullest. Heather, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great friend, will be sadly missed by all whose lives she touched. Special thanks to all those who were there for us, with comforting kind words, cards, flowers and baking. The overwhelming show of kindness, spoke for itself as to how much she was loved.

“If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane we’d walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.”

A Celebration of Heather’s life was held on Monday, December 24, at 1:00 pm at Piercy’s Funeral Home in Courtenay with Pastor Fox officiating.
