April 10, 1944 - January 24, 2009


Judi passed away quietly in the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria on Saturday January 24th.

Judi was predeceased by her parents Abe and Susan Bergen of Morden Manitoba and her brothers Stan, Frank, and Bert Bergen, and sister-in-law Gwen Bergen. She is survived by her two loving sons Todd of Calgary and Boyd of Victoria and her husband Gerry of Calgary, also two brothers, Harvey Bergen (Eleanor) of Altona MB, and Randy Bergen (Audrey) of Calgary AB, sisters-in-law, Elsie Bergen and Gladys Bergen, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Judi was a Northern Radio Operator with Manitoba Telephone Services. She held accounting positions at Parkdale Farms - Parkdale, MB, St. John’s Cathedral Boys School - Selkrik, MB and with Moffit Communications “CKY58” Radio – Winnipeg. For the past 10 years she enjoyed working in administration and accounting at the Comox Valley Animal Hospital.

Judi was an avid curler and an active member of the Comox Valley Curling Club. Besides enjoying the game of curling, she was an enthusiastic baseball fan, and her favourite team was the Toronto Blue Jays. She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Selkirk Chapter #35, Selkirk, MB. Her hobbies focused on gardening, knitting, crochet and crossword puzzles.

We would like to give special thanks to the Doctors and Staff of the Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, BC and the St. Joseph’s General Hospital, Comox, BC.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2009 at Comox Valley Funeral Home at 2:00 pm. The address is 1101 Ryan Road, Courtney, BC.
