Helen Foster, born on November 9th, 1924 returned to her Heavenly home on February 3rd, 2018.
She lived her life with love and shared her laughter with everyone she met. Her family and many friends will always remember her for her joy and pride in her family and her zest for a life lived with grace.
Helen was predeceased by her; mother and father Vivian and Walter McManus, her first husband Maurice Power, her loving husband and friend Ken Foster and dear friend Jeanie Robson.
She is survived by her children; Geoff Power (Dawn), Janet Alexander (Ron), Michael Power (Jody), Derek Power (Eveline) and Ray Foster (Maria).
Helen is also survived by her; brother Gerald McManus (Shirley), 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Helen taught home economics in high schools for most of her career life then became involved as a founder of Anderton Therapeutic Gardens, peer counsellor for the Alzheimer's Support Group, active member of the Celtic Club and more in the Comox Valley. Her passion for people shone in everything she was involved with.
A memorial will be held at the Four Square Church on 1640 Burgess Rd in Courtenay at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 17th. All who knew Helen are welcome.
