NOBLE

Helen (Ella)

Helen (Ella) Noble passed away peacefully on October 25, 2007 at the age of 82.

Ella is survived by three sons: James (Janet) of Cumberland, George of Cumberland and Edward of Woss Lake; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and brother-in-law, Alan Noble of Parksville. Ella was predeceased by her father, mother, brother, Jim, son, Robert and husband, George.

She was a resident of the Oceanview Extended Care unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox, BC. Ella was born on August 17, 1925, Whitburn County, Scotland and came to Canada with her parents in 1926. She lived in Nanaimo, Harewood District until 1936 and then with her parents in Bevan. In 1946, she married George Noble and lived most of her life down Camp, Cumberland.

Ella worked for many years at the Goosespit Cadet kitchen and then to the Mess kitchen at the Comox Base. Ella suffered a heart condition that forced an early retirement.

She joined the OAP Branch #51 of Cumberland and enjoyed Whist, Bingo and Bazzars. She also spent a lot of time with her family and grandchildren. Her family was very important to her.

With her failing eyesight and hearing loss, she remained at home, enjoying outings with her family. She truly missed not being able to do all of the things she wanted to do. She loved her family unconditionally and her friends too. We will miss her very much.

A Celebration of Ella’s life will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at the Masonic Hall, Dunsmuir Avenue, Cumberland from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Piano Fund at the Eagleview and Oceanview Extended care unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox, BC. Cremation.
