Norgaard, Henny
Born 7 October, 1921 in Copenhagen, Denmark, passed away February 8, 2004 in Comox, B.C. Predeceased by her husband, Einar and her sister, Gerda, she will be missed by her sister, Lis in Denmark, and her daughters, Ingelise (David), Doreen (Daniel), Ruth, Joanne (Karl), stepson Henning (Rosemary), eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Henny always enjoyed long walks, her pets, and in her younger years was an avid competitive ballroom dancer.
Thank you to the doctors and staff at St. Joseph’s hospital for making her last days comfortable. No service at her request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox, B.C.

SWERHUN, PATRICK HAROLD, a former resident of Courtenay, passed away quietly on February 7, 2004 in Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Born January 25, 1918 in Saskatchewan, pat moved to Vancouver Island in 1959, where he was a millwright in Port Alberni until his retirement. Predeceased by his wife Vera Swerhun and son-in-law Luke Cullum, he will be lovingly remembered by daughters; Nadine Cullum (Paul) and Donna Swerhun; grandchildren Dion Cullum, Hollie Collum (Alex) and Nicole (nee Cullum) Donovan (Mike) as well as great grandchildren Lauren and Jorden Donovan. Pat was predeceased by his beloved wife Beatrice and will be remembered by his stepson Gordon (Margaret Ann) Betcher and their daughters Caroline and Laura and families. The eldest of a large family, Pat will be missed by all. A funeral service will be held in Courtenay, B.C. at 1:30pm, Friday February 13, 2004 in The Church of Saint John the Divine, 579 5th Street, Courtenay. Interment to follow in the Courtenay Civic Cemetery.
