In Loving Memory ~
It is with a mixed sense of sadness for those she leaves but gratitude for a peaceful reunion with those who have gone before that we share the passing of our Mom, Henrietta on January 3, 2022.
She was born in Owl's Head, Nova Scotia to Dennis and Mary May. She graduated from High School and worked as a telephone operator in Halifax until her marriage to long time friend Charles (Charlie) Keating in 1952.
Dad's military career saw them stationed at Greenwood, NS until 1956; Summerside, PEI from 1956 to 1963 and Comox, BC from 1963 to his retirement in 1971.
As a family we spent many weekends camping in the Maritimes and on Vancouver Island and camped across Canada when we came to Comox. Mom's journal of that trip is one of the cherished gifts she leaves with us.
Dad passed in 1971 and we lost our brother, Charles, in 1981 but Mom kept her faith in God and her love of family gave her strength.
She married Charles Dove in 1993 and together they traveled and golfed all over western Canada and even played St. Andrews in Scotland. Charles passed in 2012 leaving a blended family to care for her until she joined those she loved in heaven.
Mom loved babies, sitting in the sun, and watching the ocean waves. She will be deeply missed and always loved by her four daughters Louise (Kevin), Carol (Gord), Laura (Rick) and Cathy (Jim), her step-children Bonnie Ann, Charles(Lynn) and Murray(Tracey) and her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
God welcomed Mom home on January 7 with a private prayer service and a blessing by Deacon Dan of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, Mom's long-time parish where her volunteer work included teaching Catechism, working with the residents of The Pines and delivering Meals on Wheels.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 7, 2022 for family and friends.
