ELLISON

Henry Lawrence Edwin (Ted)

The family of Henry Lawrence Edwin ( Ted) Ellison sadly announce his passing on July 18, 2007 at age  76. Ted is loveingly remembered by his wife, Pat , daughters Colleen ( Rob) of Courtenay, Shelley ( Mark) of Surrey, Kimberley ( Barak) of Lansing MIchigan, son Rick ( Renee) of Everett Washington, sister Geraldine Parry( Marvin  ) of Courtenay , 5 wonderful grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, Pat’s large Evans family and his faithful dog Whidbey. The family wishes to thank Dr. Konway, VIHA Home Support and People at Home.

Ted was born in Cumberland and raised in the Comox Valley but the whole coast of B.C. was his playground. He spent his younger years as a logger and camp foreman where he developed a reputation for his physical and character strength. However he  soon  combined his love of flying and his business acumen to provide sales and service to the many small communities along the rugged and  remote coast of B.C.His float plane was a common sight as he navigated in and out of the Courtenay river. Ted was a true west coast pioneer and will be missed by friends and business associates up and down the coast.Ted was a hospitable and generous host who loved to entertain friends and family with stories of his many wilderness adventures. One of Ted’s last good journeys was a road trip down the US west coast with son Rick, where, through contacts of Rick’s , he was able to visit the deck of the USS Midway in San Diego.

A Celebration of Ted’s life will be held at 888( Komox ) RCAF Wing, Air Force Association of Canada, 1298 Military Row,Comox on July 23 at 1:00 pm.

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
