Hub passed away suddenly on June 11th, 2005 at the age of 64 years. He was predeceased by his parents Johanne and Johannes and step-son Robert Greenlaw. He is survived by his loving companion Valerie Greenlaw, step-sons: David, James (Sandy), Scott, grandchildren: Allison, Jalene, Karley and Kristyn Greenlaw, Curtis, Angie and Jeanie Mallett. Also survived by his siblings: John, Fien, Hub’s twin sister Nell, Jef, Piet and their families and many family members in Holland and Canada. Hub was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 160, Courtenay Fish and Game Club and the 888 R.C.A.F. Wing.
The family will receive friends at a public viewing on Thursday, June 16th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Piercy’s / Mt. Washington Funeral Home, 440 England Ave. A Service to Celebrate Hub’s Life will be held on Friday, June 17th, 2005 at 2:30pm at the Courtenay Fish and Game Club, 3780 Colake Rd., Courtenay (250) 338-9122. Arrangements have been entrusted to Piercy’s / Mt. Washington Funeral Home.
