With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Inge Charlotte Stephenson at the age of 93, on March 4th, 2025, at Nanaimo Regional Hospital. She was a beacon of light and an inspiration to all who knew her.

Born on August 2nd, 1931, in Frankenthal, Germany, Charlotte was the eldest of five siblings and played a pivotal role in their upbringing. She attended trade school in 1946 completing her Master's in Cosmetology.

Charlotte was predeceased by her husband, Allan Stephenson (1992), her parents Jakob and Maria, brothers Bertold, Karlheinz, and her son, Bernd.

Charlotte is survived by her daughter Susan Garcia; grandchildren Derrik (Trisha & Laura), Carlos (Alayna), and Maria (Chris); great-grandchildren Kaylee, Jacob, Andreas, Miguel, Wesley and Liam. Siblings, Gertrud Petty and Gert Ruppert, her companion of 16 years, Don Hurford, and many loving family and friends.

Charlotte's passion for dancing, her elegant style, smile and laughter will be missed. She brought warmth to our lives. We will be guided by her memory daily as we tell her stories, continue her traditions, and love others the way she always loved us.

Life is what we make of it, and Charlotte truly made hers beautiful. While she is now gone, she will never be forgotten.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the kind and compassionate staff at VIHA, Home Instead, Glacier View Lodge, and The Gardens. We also thank the wonderful paramedics, doctors, and nurses in the Emergency and Palliative wards at Nanaimo Regional Hospital and Comox Valley Hospital for their care.

A service will be held at 11AM on Monday May 26th, at Faith Lutheran Church, located at 1688 McPhee Ave, Courtenay, luncheon to follow. Family gathering in Victoria for internment of Charlotte and Allan on May 28th.
