IRENE GRACE JEAN PATERSON
“BETTY BOOP”
October 7, 1930 – May 20, 2007
Mom passed away with peace and dignity at her home in Comox with son Bruce and daughter Debbi at her side. She was predeceased by her husband William “Bill” Paterson on April 15, 2007, her father William Smith, mother Grace Smith and her brothers Duke, Bob and Willy. Mom is survived by her sons Bruce and Brian, her daughters Candy and Debbi as well as 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Mom was a long time sorority member with Beta Sigma Phi. Her last chapter was Laureate Gamma Iota. She loved and was loved by all her sisters. Special thanks to Greg Oksanen (Modern Family Pharmacy), nurses Val, Denise and Janet at VIHA and all the care aides she met over the past month. More thanks to the Royal 1 nurses at the Jubilee Hospital. Extra special thanks to Rhonda Paterson who has been a guardian angel to both Irene and Bill for many years. Mom loved life and had more than her share of miracles throughout her life. Her wish was fulfilled by being home surrounded by friends and family and of course her Betty Boop dolls. Mom “shot from the hip” sometimes but always meant well.
A Memorial Service in Celebration of Her Life will be held at COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD, COURTENAY on Saturday, May 26th, 2007 at 11:00 A.M.
