Irma Martha Louisa Blank

Our loving mother Irma Martha Louisa Blank born in Hamburg Germany August 20, 1922 passed on October 2, 2019.
Irma was the second born of 4 girls. Her sisters, Marga Czember, Ursula Booker and Gerda Ivering. Eventually moved with their families to Canada in 1954, Irma ended up in Prince George where she raised her 6 children. Coming from very modest beginnings she managed to create a comfortable living for herself and her family by purchasing her own restaurant, the Connaught Motor Inn Restaurant. She ran her restaurant for almost a decade until she chose to retire. Irma later moved to Surrey where she lived with her son Uwe Blank. She spent many days with her sister Ursual playing Skat and Bingo together. Both ladies were members of a skat club where they were the only ladies. Both ladies often gave the men a run for their money. Eventually Irma ended up in Courtenay with her eldest daughter Sigrid Graham.
Sigrid and her eldest daughter, Nadine Berger were blessed to spend the last few moments with Irma as she peacefully took her final breathes.
Irma was predecased by her first husband Kurt Wildebrand, her second husband Franz Blank, her partner of 10 years, Lorne McCarger, her son Glen Stuart Blank, her 2 sisters Marga Czember and Ursual Booker, daughter-in-law Irene Blank and son-in-law Raymond Graham.
Irma is survived by her children Sigrid Graham [Raymond Graham], Manfred Blank [Irene Blank, Debra Blank], Uwe Blank, Frank Blank [Nancy Blank] Yvonne Blank [Marcel Offroy], 9 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held November 2, 2019 at 375 Simon Crescent, Comox at 1pm for all family and friends.
