Ivy Kathleen Laing (nee: Ledward) passed away peacefully at home. Born on March 10, 1921 in Brighton, England, Mum was raised during the Great Depression and then worked at munitions factories during W.W. II. Mum emigrated to Canada with husband George in 1953 and moved to Sidney, B.C. in 1958 where he worked and raised her family.


Mother to: Madeline (Ken) Robertson, Vanderhoof, Richard (Juliette) Laing, Saltspring Island, Wendy (Al Johnson), Comox Valley; beloved grandmother to: Kathleen, Jennifer, John, Ryan and Niko.


Mum was a cheery soul, facing life with determination and independence. Her warmth and friendly smile will be missed on the streets of Sidney.


The family wishes to sincerely thank Dr. Gagliardi and send heartfelt thanks to the Home Care Nurses and Home Support Workers who have helped care for Mum over the past decade.


At her request a private family gathering will be held. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice would be appreciated.
