It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of James (Jim) Arthur Hendrickson.
Born in Port Alberni, Jim moved with his family to Parksville at a young age. There he spent time playing hockey and making life-long friendships. During his teens, he developed a love for cars which influenced his career choices and leisure activities.
Jim enjoyed a good road trip, and long Sunday drives. In recent years, he explored northern BC and the Yukon while living and working in Fort St John and Whitehorse.
Truly, family time was his favourite time, and he travelled back to Courtenay as often as possible to spend time with his kids and grandkids.
Jim was a younger brother, an amazing father, the friend you could always count on, golf partner, a hard worker and a strong non-judgemental shoulder to lean on.
Jim leaves behind his brother Dave Hendrickson (Roberta) and his Uncle Ray Pernoski, as well as his greatest accomplishments, his children Robby (Adelle), Preston (Marjorie) and Haylee (James). His granddaughters Leila, Rayna and Paisley will miss their wonderful Papa.
Also survived by his niece Jara Hendrickson (Neil) and great-nephew Kyle, and nephew Dustin Hendrickson (Kristen).
Jim was pre-deceased by his mother Shirley Hendrickson and step-father Tom Sjoquist, and by his father Claude Hendrickson.
We are thankful for all of the condolences and kind words from friends far and wide.
Family and friends will gather to remember and honour Jim at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, and if you wish, donations may be made to BC Children's Hospital Foundation, which has tremendous significance to Jim and his family.

Your condolences will be approved within one business day. You will need a valid Facebook account. Please email us if you have any questions.
