Jim Ellis born in Nanaimo, BC, passed away on June 19th surrounded by family at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Jim is predeceased by his wife, Myrtle and brother Norman Ellis. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his children: Gail (Norm) Kirschner, Allan (Louise) Ellis, Janet (Kevin) Ellis, sister Alma Gibson and brother Gordon (Babs) Ellis, Jim will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Kim (Dennis), Darren (Cass), Marie, Erin, David and by his great-grandchildren: Benjamin, Hannah and Kaden, as well as many nieces and nephews. After moving to Cumberland, Jim worked as a coal miner, logger and at Comox Valley Cablenet until his retirement. He enjoyed watching the Waverly Blues ball team, watching his grandchildren play ball and other sports, being outdoors, fishing, camping, puttering in the garden and being at the cabin. Jim cherished his grandchildren, they always called him ”Bub”. The family would like to extend special thanks to the 2nd and 3rd floor nurses at St. Joseph’s Hospital. There will be no service as requested, and a Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held at a later date.
