James "Russ" Russel Dalton, 91, of Comox, BC, passed away peacefully Monday, Aug 17, 2020 at home with his family at his side.
Born September 24, 1928 in Chipman, NB, "Russ" was the son of James Dalton and Alice Dalton (née Power).
A RCAF veteran, Russ joined the service in 1950 and spent most of his military career overseas in Europe. He met his future bride Georgina DuBois in 1963 at RCAF Station Gimli where she also served. Their son Gregory was born in Gimli, 1964, and a daughter Alisa, at RCAF Station Baden-Soellingen, Germany in 1965.
His final posting was to CFB Comox, 1973, where he fell in love with the beauty of the Comox Valley.
Following his retirement from the CAF in 1978, Russ then worked for the City of Courtenay at the local RCMP detachment.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, "Georgie" Marie Elisabeth Georgina Dalton (née DuBois); daughter, Alisa Dalton of Ottawa, ON; granddaughters Isabelle Miron and Gabrielle Miron; and son, Gregory Dalton of Comox, BC.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Frank and Albert.
