James Sykes passed away suddenly On February 14, 2010 in Victoria, B.C. Jim is survived and will be lovingly missed by his wife, Dorothy, his children; Paul, Daneen, Brian and Heather, grandchildren; Amanda, Matthew and Carver, great grandchild Bretton, sister Joan Penrose and numerous other family members. Jim enlisted in England on Sept. 12, 1946, then served in Canada starting March 1956 and retired in September 1983. Jim became an Apprentice Coach Builder in 1954 and continued throughout his life to do custom wood working. He loved a good practical joke and dearly loved his family and friends. If friends so wish, donations in Jim’s memory made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, PO Box 1225, Comox, B.C. V9M 7Z8 would be appreciated. A Celebration of Jim’s Life will take place at Comox Valley Funeral Home, Cremation & Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay, B.C. on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 1:00 p.m.
