JAN SYKES “Auntie Jan”
1943-2004
It is with deepest sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our precious daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend.
Jan was predeceased by her husband Al Sykes and her father Herbert Hatt.
She will be lovingly remembered by her mother, sisters, daughters, grandchildren and by her many other family members and friends.
Jan was born in London, England on May 1, 1943. She married her “love” Al and they spent 34 years together. They fulfilled their dream of sailing “Sweetwater” the boat they built together. They set sail from Collingwood, Ontario and completed their year long voyage in Comox, BC, making Vancouver Island their home.
A Celebration of Jan’s life will be held on Saturday, June 12 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Piercy’s - Mt. Washington Funeral Home, 440 England Avenue, Courtenay, BC.
