Born April 29, 1917 on Denman Island, youngest of seven children of a pioneering family, Jean was predeceased by husband Tom, son-in-law Stan, and her brothers and sisters. Lovingly remembered by her children Tom (Roberta), Lorraine, Leona (Les), Gail, Donna (Nick), Jeannine, and Neil (Sharon), many grand and great-grandchildren, and countless friends and relatives.
She was a longtime member of the Royston Community Club, Denman Island Lace Club, Eastern Star, Women’s Institute, United Church Women, and many other community organizations. An avid painter, she also enjoyed quilting, knitting, and other crafts.
Jean was happiest when sharing with others, whether hosting Piercy family reunions on the farm or making a cup of tea for a friend. Ever willing to lend a hand – and always ready with a canned ham in her purse – Jean brought comfort, love, and laughter to everyone. She will be greatly missed.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the wonderful care given by the Glacier View staff.
Service was held at the Courtenay United Church, Tuesday, November 7th, 2006, at 2:00pm.
