Jean Koziol

January 8th, 1924 – December 1st, 2009

All that knew and loved Jean Koziol are saddened by her peaceful passing away in her own home on December 1st, 2009. Jean is survived by her daughter Helen (Wilf Craats), son Michael and granddaughter Kat. Jean was previously deceased by her husband Mieczyslaw (“Doc”) and son Peter.

Born in Rochdale England, Jean’s exciting life included experiencing WWII in England, running a hotel in Scotland, farming and raising sheep, horses, cattle and pigs in Alberta, and growing oysters on Vancouver Island. She was very strong willed, a free thinker and always had a unique and quick sense of humour. Over the past ten years Jean was courageous and never complained even through she suffered from numerous debilitating medical conditions. Jean always enjoyed the beauty, peacefulness and tranquility of her comfortable home, loved all forms of animal life and took great pleasure in the magnificent local scenery.

The family wishes to thank the many personal caregivers who made Jean’s later life so comfortable and full of love and understanding. Very special thanks go out to the Watts family and the Fletchers. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the MS Society or the SPCA.

Jean was a gentle soul who lives on in the hearts and memories of those she touched – we loved her so much and we will all miss her.
