Aged 84, passed away peacefully at home on Salt Spring Island, on April 8, 2004.
Jean grew up in Courtenay, attending Courtenay schools in the 1920’s and 1930’s. Her parents, Peter and Olive McIntyre were original Merville settlers who moved to Courtenay following the Merville fire in 1923. Her brother, Merchant Seaman, Ian McIntyre lost his life in the Second World War, and her surviving brother, Peter McIntyre resides in Nanaimo.
Jean led a rich, busy useful life filled with community work and service to others.
