Aug 31, 1920 - Jan 4, 2018
Jennie, 97, was born at Teulon Manitoba and passed away peacefully on January 4, 2018 at the Views in Comox BC. Jennie was predeceased by her husband George of 67 years.

Jennie was part of a large family having four brothers and five sisters. During WW2 Jennie worked as an inspector at a factory in Toronto engaged in the production of rifles. Following the war Jennie and George married and had a farm in Manitoba for a few years before relocating to Courtenay BC where they remained. Jennie loved her family which included her two sons, four grandchidren, her brothers and sisters and the many nieces and nephews. She was always willing to help when someone was in need and greatly enjoyed family gatherings.

Jennie was an accomplished pianist and along with her husband George was a long-time member of the Courtenay Legion. Jennie enjoyed gardening, sewing and knitting, with her knitted socks being much in demand by anyone who was fortunate enough to have a pair.

Jennie is survived by her sons Jim (Christine), Doug (Diane), grandchildren Melanie (Joey), Shane (Karla), Kelly (Joel), and Heather (Colin), great grandchildren Addison, Nicholas, Arabella and Lorenzo, her younger brother Charles (Chuck-92) as well as many nephews and nieces.

The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at the Views for the care mom received during the last few months of her life. Special thanks to Dr. Thompson for those years of care that mom received from him.

A celebration of life will be held at the Courtenay Legion on February 16, 2018 at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers a donation to the Courtenay Legion would be appreciated.
