Jiovanni "John" Donati Parente

John was born in Vancouver and grew up in Burnaby. He met his wife and true soulmate Julie, and moved to Courtenay on Vancouver Island in 1994.  John and Julie successfully co-owned and ran the White Spot in Courtenay for many years winning awards for continual improvement and perfect service instilled by one of the best.  This was attributed to  his winning and contagious mannerism. He made time for everyone and truly loved people and life.  John spent a lot of time doing what he loved, which included traveling, especially to his favorite spots in Mexico; camping, kayaking, and fishing.

John passed away on Sunday, June 19th at St. Paul’s Hospital. He was predeceased by his mom and dad Filomena and Giuseppe Parente. He is survived by his spouse, Julie and children, Sean and Chloe as well as his three siblings, Nick (Maria deceased), Bert (Sandy), and Maria (Bob), and his in laws Pat and Lloyd and Paul, Kim, Angie, Laurie, Terri, and Michelle. He also leaves behind many special nieces, nephews, and cousins. The honor of your presence is requested at a memorial mass at Holy Cross on Tuesday, July 5th at 10:30am.
