SHERBACK - Joan, September 11, 1924 - July 21, 2009, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital. Predeceased by her husband John in August 2008, she is survived by her son Raymond of Vancouver; daughter Norma Sweet (Charles) of Falmouth, N.S.; grandchildren Craig (Marni) of Winnipeg and Shannon of Falmouth, N.S. and great grandchildren Addison, Jena and Teagan. Mrs. Sherback served in the Royal Air Force during World War Two. Her husband John was in the RCAF when they met. She was a British War Bride and an avid gardener and a very sociable, active and loving person. Her family wishes to thank the staff at St. Joseph's Hospital, especially the ER nurses and Dr. David Bowler for their sustained assistance and kindness. Following a private interment at Courtenay Civic Cemetery, a memorial service for both Joan and John took place at Berwick Lodge, Comox, on Wednesday, July 29th.
