In loving memory ~
John lost his battle with cancer on November 6, 2022, with his wife Marie and other family members at his side.
He lived his whole life on the island, most of it in the Comox Valley. He was rich in friends, and he loved life. An active sportsman, he played Baseball, Football, Hockey, Volleyball, Softball, Basketball, Competitive Swimming and Skied. Later in life he spent many hours on the golf course and at the curling rink.
John spent many years in the audio-visual industry and then joined his wife Marie selling Real Estate.
He loved music, comedy and having drinks with friends and teammates. His sense of humor was appreciated by all as he lived life to its fullest.
Predeceased by his father Don Hope, his brother-in-law Paul Hemingway and father in law Brian Hemingway. He is survived by his wife, the love of his life Marie, mother Margot Hope, sister Lorelei (Stu) Banford, brother Matthew (Michele) Hope. In laws June, Alan, Neil (Sharon) Hemingway, Toni Trettenero and Kim Forman. Niece Natasha and nephew Clinton,
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Stephen Nap, Dr. Bakshi, the nurses on the third floor and the nurses that worked with him at home. A special thank you to sister-in-law Kim for her invaluable knowledge and guidance. To all his friends who visited, called and generally made his life better- Thank you.
A celebration of life will be announced when we get our act together.
