McDermott - John Christopher of Courtenay, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Thursday, November 27th, 2003, aged 59. He is survived by his sister Pat and brother-in-law Dr. Charles Taylor; stepmother Maria McDermott, his brother Jim, and his cousin Jim, all in the U.S. John was a graduate of the University of Northern Illinois, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Finance. He served with the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam War Veteran. A gathering of family and friends in celebration of John’s life will take place on Sunday, December 14th at 2:30 pm at 4472 South Island Highway, Courtenay.
