May 15, 1941 - Mar 27, 2018
John was born in a small village in Quebec's eastern township of Kingscroft on May 15, 1941 and passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on March 27, 2018.

He spent his childhood and early teens on the family farm and in his late teens he decided to have a look at military life. Following his enrollment, he underwent training in various locations in Quebec and Ontario. He requested a transfer and moved to BC to broaden his horizons and learn a new language.

John quickly fell in love with the west coast and those beautiful mountains. He soon met a pretty girl, Lorraine, and love bloomed and together they raised 3 lovely daughters in their 55 years of marriage. On completion of his military career, he and Lorraine chose to retire in the Comox Valley to leisure living and playing golf.

After a few years John found that he enjoyed tinkering with golf clubs more than playing the game and thus began a passionate hobby that lasted 26 years.

He met and enjoyed many people through this endeavour and made many wonderful friends. Having played hockey in his youth and the military, John returned to the game and enjoyed years of playing Old Timers Hockey and again made many friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Nancy McFadden for all her care, compassion and love.

As per his wishes, there will be no service held.
