January 29, 1965 - May 20, 2021
John Edwin Robinson born January 29, 1965. John was an Air Force brat who travelled the world and Canada finally settling in the Comox valley, instilling a sense of wanderlust that would stay with him.
Johnny worked all over Vancouver Island, the Shuswap, and the Yukon as a cook, roofer and logger. He was an artist, photographer, adventurer, rescuer of hummingbirds and the occasional lost soul. Johnny loved being outdoors, gold panning, mushroom picking, hiking, camping and drowning worms.
He loved his family and friends fiercely. His smart-ass remarks and sense of humor will be forever missed by his mother Bunny, his children Candace (Greg), Codi and Regis, his brother Keith (Rose), sister Wendy (John) his 3 grandkids Adonia, Blake, and Jorel, 31 nieces and nephews (some great, some just regular) many friends, few enemies and his partner of 36 yrs. Mary-Ann.
He was predeceased by his father John 'Robbie' Robinson, both his maternal and paternal grandparents and his 2 hounds Darky and Frank.
John started a new adventure May 20, 2021, after a long struggle, which was made bearable the last month with help from Dr. Fehlau, Nurse Practitioners Melissa Gagnon and Jaime Fortier and numerous palliative homecare nurses. Thank you, you rock!
Johnny always wanted to be donated to science, but after seeing a documentary about that, decided upon cremation; and since a whole weekend at Bernie's followed by a Viking burial is 'frowned upon' that task has been entrusted to Comox Valley Funeral Home.
