1955 - 2015
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Howard Thomas Green who passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital. John was born in Comox and attended Courtenay and Puntledge Park Elementary Schools, Courtenay Jr. Secondary and GP Vanier Secondary. He is predeceased by his father, John William Green and mother, Juanita Delores Green.
John pursued Business at the University of British Columbia before embarking on a career in outdoor clothing design and sales. His passions included marathon running, hiking and many sports, most notably his coaching and officiating in baseball and basketball. John led several teams to provincial championships and was instrumental in guiding his nephew, Taylor to the Major Leagues of Baseball. John also exhibited great interest and skills in the culinary arts, receiving a Chef’s Red Seal from Vancouver College.
John will always be remembered for his strong character and his ability to deal with adversity.
John is survived by his brothers, Bill and Robbie, along with family members Marcia, Thomas, Rebecca, Jacqueline, Taylor, Sophie and Lewis.
No service is planned at this time. Donations may be made to the Arthritis Society of BC.
