Franklin, John Lawrence
1932 ~ 2006
Born August 10, 1932 in Galt, Ontario - died September 9, 2006 in Cumberland Extended Care after a lengthy illness. He is survived by Ernie his loving wife of 24 years. His sons: Doug Franklin, Dennis (Cindy) Franklin, Tom (Jen Spratt), Chris (Mel) Spratt; his daughters: Lori Hillis (John), Teresa Gehiere, Patty (Dan) Roy, Karen Spratt (Art), Kathy (Ian) Kelly.
He is survived by 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. John is survived by his brother Reg Franklin and his sister Shirley (Dave) Hart. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
John was a heavyduty equipment operator and loved running a dozer. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and later on playing bingo. John loved the outdoors and was happiest when he was out fishing. He was proud of his family and would talk about them to anyone who would listen. He loved to give people a bad time and was often found telling jokes for he loved to make people laugh. John had a kind heart and he loved his family. He loved to feel needed and used his many talents to teach them everything that he knew.
A Celebration of John’s life will be held on September 16th at 1:00pm at 1230 Foden Road in Comox.
