Lorne passed away suddenly at his home in Comox, Nov 5th, 2007.

Lorne is survived by his wife Joyce; his sons Jack (Sheila), Don (Karen); his grandsons Steve and Jeremy. Lorne was born in Abbotsford, the fourth child of John and Edna Vanetta. He was predeceased by both his parents and three siblings, Lloyd, Hazel and Kathleen. Lorne attended high school in Sumas, Washington where he excelled at track and field, basketball, and baseball. Lorne served overseas during WWII with the Manitoba Dragoons, after returning to Canada, Lorne worked for Overwaitea, managing stores in Prince Rupert, Vernon, Campbell River and Courtenay. Lorne later embarked on a very successful real estate career. Lorne was an avid curler and served as president of the Curling Club. Lorne had a passion for the game of golf which he passed on to his sons and grandsons. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, November 14th, 2007 at the Comox United Church at 2:00 pm with a reception to follow in the church hall.
