Nov. 1, 1920 - Aug. 10, 2015

After a short illness John passed away peacefully early Monday morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox, BC.

Born on the East Coast, passed on the West Coast, John loved fishing. Although John never ate seafood – he loved giving his catch away. John was a decorated WWII veteran and served as a Tail-Gunner in Great Britain and Italy. His passion and enjoyment came from spending time at the casino. He knew when to fold’em! He was an avid vegetable gardener and would not plant anything that couldn’t be eaten – his pickles were enjoyed by all.

John is survived by his best friend and companion K. McMullen, four children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Honoring John’s wishes, a family gathering to be held at a later date.

Should friends wish, donations in his memory to the Comox Valley SPCA, 1668 Ryan Rd. E, Comox, B.C., V9M 7Z8 would be appreciated.
