Passed away peacefully at 3:30 pm on January 16, 2018 at North Island Hospital, Comox Valley.
Predeceased by his wife Joyce (2013), and their sons Donald (1998) and James (2013). John will be missed by his goddaughter Debra, brothers Ralph and Arthur (Fae), daughters- in-law Kookai and Sharon, grandchildren Jennifer and Sarah (Michael), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, John was one of six children. He worked at UniRoyal and Kruger Inc. for a number of years and his military service included being a member of the Black Watch. Retiring to Comox in 1991, John became involved in the Ocean Waves Square Dancing Club as well as Citizens on Patrol. He also delivered newspapers for the Comox Valley Record. He loved travelling in his RV and enjoyed meals out with friends and family at Plates Eatery and Jo Klassens.

A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Friday, Jan 26th at the Comox Valley Funeral Home. Interment to take place at 1 pm at the Courtenay Civic Cemetery.
