Joey of Comox passed away suddenly but peacefully on September 29th 2006 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. We would like to thank Dr. D. Brailey, Dr. C. Ostry, Dr. S. Schovanek, and Dr. R. Monks, and all the caring staff of the psychiatric ward.

She was born in Prince Albert Saskatchewan and moved to Calgary, Alberta in her early teens where she married her husband Lorne Fidler. They raised, loved and cared deeply for their two daughters.

Joey retired to the Island in the early 80’s and had been living in Comox for the past 11 years. Here she enjoyed golfing, reading, spending time with family, friends and neighbors.

Joey was predeceased by her parents Oliver and Elizabeth, her husband Lorne, brothers Roy, Victor and Wilbert, sisters Adeline and Grace. She is survived by daughters Lorna Fidler (Wally MacNeil) of Calgary, Sandra McGregor (Fred) of Comox and granddaughter Carla Claeys of Edmonton, as well as sister Hazel Neilsen Calgary, brother Allan (Phyllis) of Prince Albert, Sask. Also by sisters-in-law Vera McDiarmid (Don) of Courtenay and Judi Mackie of Lantzville, and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by family and friends and forever loved.

A “CELEBRATION OF LIFE” will be held on Friday, October 6th 2006 at 1464 Jackson Drive, Comox from 1:00pm - 4:00pm.
