It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Joyce Margaret Fenton. Joyce was born in Birmingham, England on November 18, 1921. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 16, 2016, two days before her 95th birthday. Joyce is survived by her cousin Barry (Brenda) and their daughter Marie, and relatives from England and The Netherlands. Joyce will be sadly missed by her two grandsons, Landon and Lucas, who will forever remember her, her many stories and her quick wit. Joyce will also be missed by her longtime friends Dona, Robin, Norman and Bob. Joyce emigrated from the UK and settled in Fanny Bay, then Cumberland and eventually made her home near the beach in Courtenay. Joyce enjoyed many years as a bookkeeper and was meticulous with numbers and keeping records. She got immense pleasure from young children and animals. If it was possible, she would have welcomed every stray dog or cat into her home. We would like to thank Dr.Gregory and the wonderful staff at Glacier View Lodge for their loving care during Joyce’s stay. At Joyce’s request, there will be a private ceremony, rather than a funeral.
