The family are saddened to share the passing of Joyce Margaret Johnson on February 23, 2022, at 83 years of age.
Joyce was born on November 26, 1938, in Edmonton, AB. As a child she lived throughout BC including Ocean Falls, Chemainus, and Kimberley. As a young adult she worked for Cominco and BC Hydro.
She met her husband Ed in Kimberley and together they had three boys. The family moved to Dawson Creek, BC in the late 1970s. Then in 2013 Ed and Joyce relocated to Comox, BC.
Joyce was a loving wife, and caring mother to both her three children and the family pets. She enjoyed baking, knitting, gardening, and reading. While her boys were growing up Joyce was known for always preparing enough to serve dinner to the boys' neighborhood friends.
Joyce was predeceased by her mother, father, brother Edwin, and sister Ruth.
She is survived by her husband Ed, sons Michael, Gary (Colleen), Leo (Gillian), grandchildren Kyle (Melissa), Kaylee, Nathan, and Keira, great-grandchildren Kiana and Olivia, and her sister Vivian.
The family wish to thank the doctors, nurses, and health care providers who cared for Joyce during her most recent illness and over the past years.
A private Celebration of Life for immediate family will be held in Joyce's memory. For those wishing to honour Joyce's memory with a donation, please consider the BCSPCA or the Sjrogren's Society of Canada.
