Judith Louise

Judith Louise Simms passed away at St. Josephs Hospital on August 14, 2007 at the age of 65.

She is survived by her loving husband Jim of 47 years, son Jeffery (Krista) of Pemberton, daughter Jennifer of Macau, China, 2 sisters: Shirley Rose of Sechelt, Sue Lee of Burnaby, 1 brother David Bowering of Richmond, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Prior to her retirement Judy spent time in Vancouver with the city police, next to Rivers Inlet operating a fishing lodge, then to Bella Coola where her involvement with Coroners service began, finally settling in the Valley in 1983, remaining with the coroners service until her retirement in 1997.

Retirement allowed her to rekindle her artistic talent, teaching Tole painting to many Valley residents was her passion. She was also known to visit the Valley’s bingo establishments.

A gathering to celebrate Judith’s life will take place on Saturday, August 25, from 1 to 2 pm in the tea room of Piercy’s Funeral Home.
