Kate Sutherland (Hadden nee Arthurs)

Kate passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Stanford Seniors Village in Parksville, BC.
She was born in Comox and grew up on Hornby Island on her parent's farm. Kate moved to Buckley Bay in 1957 and owned/operated the Buckley Bay Store and Boarding House until 1968. Then with her second husband, Sandy Sutherland, they owned/operated Sutherland Trucking and Hornby Denman Freight.
Kate was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Vera Arthurs; husbands John Hadden and Sandy Sutherland; and brothers Jack, Bob (Nancy) and Don. Kate will be lovingly remembered by her son Glen Hadden, daughter-in-law Sharon Hadden; grandsons Bill, Dan, and Alex; sister Millie Dalziel as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
