DURRANT

Kenneth Stanley

1932 - 2008

Our beloved husband, father and grandfather born September 18, 1932 passed away peacefully with his family by his bedside December 14, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Comox.

Ken leaves behind his loving wife Marj of 55 years, his five children Robert, David (Carol), Kathy Pearse (Doug), Keith (Kotoe), Karen (Brian), and his six beautiful grandchildren Karli, Kristin, Geneva, Daniel, Lindsay, and Kaede.

Born in Victoria, raised in Campbell River, Ken excelled in all that he did. There was a good reason why all his grandchildren attended University; his knowledge of Math, English, History, and Chemistry was astounding. Heaven help the individual who walked into our home and entered into a discussion on Physics and the Principals of Flight.

Ken was an exemplary pilot; he received numerous commendations for his work, he saved lives, and was honoured by his country with the Order of Military Merit. Ken was a hero to some and a friend to all. A champion skeet shooter, Ken raised bees, he loved his dog Amazing Grace, tending his garden, and he could fish like no other. Ken, will be forever missed and remembered.

A Celebration of Remembrance shall be held at 888 Wing, Monday, December 22nd, 2:00 pm. The family would like to thank our dear friend Dr. Gino Tancon, and all the wonderful staff at St. Joseph's Hospital. Any donations can be made to the Comox Valley Hospice Society.
