Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Ken will be sadly and greatly missed by his loving wife of 64 years, Bunty and their children Don, Sheila McCutcheon (Phil), Harvey (Hannah), 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. Pre-deceased by son Jim, also brothers Claude & Oz, and sisters Eileen and Stella.

Born in Victoria to pioneers of Langford, Harold & Nora Hincks. Ken attended Langford School and Vic High until the age of 13 when he left to work at Langford Garage. In 1940, he joined the RCAF and became an Aero Engine Mechanic and later was promoted to Sergeant before discharge in 1945. He worked as an auto mechanic and Service Manager in Victoria until his retirement in 1973.

An avid golfer — joining Royal Colwood Golf Course at age 13 (3rd Junior Member) and continuing to play into his 90th year. Ken was very involved in several community associations including St. Matthew’s Church, Langford. His love of gardening won him many awards in horticultural shows around the Victoria area. Ken & Bunty moved to Courtenay in 1989 to be closer to their family which was of utmost importance to them.

Funeral Service will be held at St. John the Divine Anglican Church, 579 - 5th St. Courtenay on Thursday, April 21, 2005 at 1 pm. Father George Daley officiating.
