It is with great heartache that we announce the passing of Lars Ulf Olsson, fondly known as 'Father Lars', at the age of 87 years old in Comox BC.
Lars was born to Stellan and Alma Olsson on October 4th, 1933, in the city of Halmstad, Sweden. Lars immigrated to Canada in 1956 and in 1959 brought his wife to be, Siv Inger Lindwall, to Canada. Lars and Siv were married in Winnipeg, Manitoba on July 26th, 1959.
Lars became a tool and die maker in Sweden while working at his father's factory, and then immigrated to Canada where he worked for Manitoba Hydro as a Mechanical Technician and a supervisor.
Later in life Lars became an ordained priest and served Anglican communities in Gillam, Fox Lake, Comox, and Denman Island and in various hospitals. Through this ministry, Lars impacted the lives of many individuals with his kind words of encouragement.
Lars was survived by his wife Siv Inger, sisters Ulla (Lars), and Brita, sons; Lars (Jill) and Jeffrey (Leslie), grandchildren; Krista (Mark), Kathleen (Aurrie), and Rebekah (Braiden) and his great grandchildren; Henrik, Griffin, and Axel.
Lars passed peacefully with his family at his side on May 30, 2021
Lars's passions included the church, fishing, flying his airplane, photography and gardening. He is most remembered for his gentle sense of humour and his ability to make a bad situation seem tolerable.

Lars's ashes will be interred privately at a later date with his family present.
