Lawson passed away peacefully at his home with his wife and son at his side. Lawson was born on February 13, 1933 in the Philippines. He spent the first 12 years of his life there, the last 3 years as a P.O.W.
Upon the war's ending, he moved to Aberdeen, Scotland with his mother and met his two brothers, Allan and Wally who had been in boarding school. In 1954 he immigrated to Canada.
Lawson found work with International Harvester the day he arrived in Vancouver and worked his entire career of forty years there. He soon brought his girlfriend to Canada from Aberdeen where they married and raised two boys, Mel and Brent.
Lawson, or Lossie to his friends, met Cheryl, his wife of 24 years. They were married on December 16, 1995 and moved to the Comox Valley in February 1996 where they enjoyed retirement. Lawson was an avid golfer and they enjoyed travelling. Lawson was a loved and respected man.
Lawson is predeceased by his first wife Dorothy, son Mel, and grandson Ryan. He is survived by his wife Cheryl, son Brent, and Brent's daughter Felicia, and great grandchildren Ryder, and Eva. He is also survived by nephews Ian (Donna), Andy, Ron, and Mitch (Jevin) and nieces Jennifer, and Katie.
There will be no service due to Covid19. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
