Westergaard, Lena
November 29th, 1935 - April 21st, 2005
Born in 1935 in Saskatchewan, Lena passed away on April 21st, 2005. She was predeceased by her husband Alfred (Wes). Lena is survived by her children: Sharon (Allan) of North Vancouver, Bob (Greta) of Merritt, David (Lena) of Calgary and John (Cherie) of Chicago; as well as, 8 grandchildren. Known to many in Comox as “Lena from the Jolly Giant Store”. She was active and vibrant, enjoying her garden, trips to Hawaii, grandchildren, work and church until her diagnosis of cancer in 2000. Determined to beat it, she fought until the very end. To continue her fight, the family requests that donations in her name be made to Cancer research through the BC Cancer Foundation (www.bccancerfoundation.com). Prayers at COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD on Wednesday, April 27th at 7:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, April 28th, 2005 at 9:00 A.M. with Father Paul Murphy celebrant.
