Lilian Nelms of Merville finally found peace on Sunday, October 13th, 2002 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her sisters Eileen and Gwen, Lilian is survived by her devoted husband Cyril, two sons Robert (Cindy) and Eric (Susan) and five grandchildren: Zack, Crystal, Taylor, Ryan, and Nicole. Born in Clerkenwell, London, England, Lilian came to Canada with her husband in 1955, and settled in North Vancouver, where she was active in her church and with parent/teachers of Carisbrooke School, and was a past president of Hollyburn Toastmistresses. With her husband she returned to the Comox Valley in 1984. Her life was dedicated to her family. She will be remembered as a generous and kind lady, with a magic touch of imparting her cheerfulness to others. A Memorial Service will be held from The Chapel of COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 1101 Ryan Road on Wednesday, October 23, 2002 at 2:00 P.M., with fellowship and refreshments following in the Garden Room of the funeral home. In Lilian’s memory donations may be made to the Comox Valley Hospice Society, Box 3193, Courtenay, B.C., V9N 5N4, with appreciation.
