Our beautiful mother passed away on July 2, 2018, beloved wife of the deceased Jerome Olynyk (1997). She will live forever in the hearts of children Markian Olynyk (Susan Robertson), Christina Olynyk (Brian Webster), and Adrian Olynyk (Lana Smith), her grandchildren Shauna Robertson (Seth), Misha (Vanessa), Zelenka (Gurveer) and Sasha Olynyk, Cory, Meika (Gordon) and Jay (Mikyla) Smith and her six great grandchildren.
Lina and Jerome emigrated to Canada in 1950, living in a number of cities before finding their true home in the Comox Valley in 1973. Whether cooking up a batch of perogies for the Ukrainian Club, dancing at the Filberg Centre, playing bocce with the Italian Society or fishing off the pier, her infectious spirit would shine. Mom truly loved life and shared her joy with everyone she met.
