Linda Lott

October 26, 1941 – June 19, 2019
Born and raised in Leamington, ON, Linda subsequently attended London Teachers College and taught in the Wheatley, ON public school system for two years. In 1962, she married her high school sweetheart, Larry Lott and embarked on a 32-year journey as a military pilot’s wife. When daughters Shelly and Julie came along, she chose to give up teaching to be a stay-at-home mom, a task at which she excelled. When the family lived in multiple locations in Canada and the world, it was Linda who held everything and everyone together, being cheerleader, disciplinarian, hostess extraordinaire, decorator, and Chief Financial Officer of the Lott family. When the girls graduated from UBC in the mid-80’s, Linda took up curling, golf, and bridge more fully. She even beat Lar to get a hole-in-one first in 2003. Upon retirement from the military life in 1994, she and Larry settled in Comox and became members of the Glacier Green Golf Club, where she played often until diagnosed with COPD in 2011. She courageously battled the disease for many years, finally passing away peacefully on 19 June, surrounded by the people she loved. She is survived by Larry, husband of 57 years, daughters Shelly (Jim) Davis and Julie, grandsons Bradley (24) and Cole (22) and sister Julia (Neil) Hyatt, Sister-in-law Edna (Don) and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed by many dear friends, notably Bev and Bob, and Tim and Roz. Of significant note, the immense care and kindness from her caregiver Janine over the years gave her great comfort and peace. The family would like to thank Drs. Brais, Greene, Dawadi, and Usmani, Christine McIntosh, the Comox Valley Hospital, and Comox Valley Seniors Village for their special care in Linda’s final weeks.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Friday, July 26 at 1 pm, 888 Wing, RCAF, 1298 Military Row, Comox.
