In Loving Memory ~
It is with deep sadness that we share news of our dear Linda’s passing. An amazing, beautiful woman who lived her life with grace, kindness and strength, she was surrounded by love and said she wasn’t afraid to start her “new journey.”
Linda is deeply loved and missed by her partner Mel Smereka; her daughters Kari (Howard), Leanne and Paula; her granddaughter Taea (Talal); and fondly remembered by her former husband Wayne Magnuson and dear extended family and friends. She will live on in our hearts.
Born in Melville, Linda lived in Saskatchewan until starting her family in Calgary, Alberta. After many years in Calgary, she made a brave and inspiring solo move to the Comox Valley in 2003.
We’re so proud of our Prairie girl who followed her heart out to the coast, and the beautiful, fulfilling Island life she created.
She had a natural way of connecting with people, including volunteering with Welcome Wagon and the Comox Airport, participating in small business trade shows, and hosting gatherings in her home and around her backyard labyrinth.
Linda lived her life from a place of gratitude, even in the face of difficult cancer treatments. We’re thankful for all the condolences and kind words from loved ones and friends far and wide, and for the kind care of all staff at the Cancer Clinic and on the 3rd floor of CVH.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Linda at a later date. Please join us in remembering Linda by visiting our online memorial at www.piercysmtwashingtonfuneral.com
In lieu of flowers, please donate to a cause that matters to you.
