Allen, Linden Jared

June 7, 1994 - May 31, 2006

It is with profound sadness that we must announce the sudden passing of our beautiful son, Linden Jared Allen. He was our precious gift that was taken away much too soon. In his short time Linden touched everyone he encountered with a quiet intelligence and love of life. He was far beyond his years in his understanding of the world, his place there and the values of right and wrong. He did everything with a smile on his face and a desire to meet all challenges. He loved to please everyone and was ready to offer himself in whatever was asked. Linden loved camping with the Scouts, playing soccer, rollerblading, swimming and skiing. He was an avid reader, aspiring orator and very committed student. He was destined to go far. Although, as his parents, we did not live together, he shared his time equally with both of us. We cherished our time with Linden and know he cherished his with us. We were lucky enough to share trips to foreign countries where he loved to experience the differences between people and the unique flavor of each culture. Linden was very close to his grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends through his school, Scouts and soccer. Linden was a very special child who lived each day to the fullest. Some say that perhaps he had taken all that he needed from life and needed no more. The best are taken first and he was truly the best. Linden is survived by his loving family: mother Alex Valentine-Allen (Rudy Andreucci) of Westbank, his father Ron Allen of Kelowna; brother Sean Allen, sister Jasmin Allen, brother Craig Valentine; grandparents Otto and Anna Lohn, all of Kelowna; and George Allen (Eloise Tobacca) of Courtenay, BC; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.
