August 10, 1940 - May 15, 2024

In loving memory ~

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lloyd after a brief battle with cancer. He passed peacefully in his sleep and is resting in the hands of his heavenly Father along with his parents Richard (Dick) and Eleanor, and his oldest son Steve. He is survived by his wife Maria, his two sisters Ellen (Tony) and Nancy (Duncan), his son Mark (Deanna) and daughter Angela (Trevor), and his six grandchildren Eric, Kyle, Jaelyn, Halayna, Grayson, and Chanse.

Lloyd was born in Windsor, Ontario and upon graduation from high school he joined the RCAF in 1960, training as a pilot. He flew operationally in Maritime Air Command on the Argus and spent three years with the RAF flying the Nimrod. His final posting was as Commanding Officer of VU33 Squadron at CFB Comox, retiring in 1991.

Lloyd was an avid fisherman spending many hours chasing the Coho and Springs out off Kye Bay, and very often came home with his limit. One of his greatest thrills was landing a monster halibut with his son Steve off Sooke.

It is probably as a firm believer in God and devout Christian that Lloyd is best remembered; during his time here in Comox he was active in several congregations in the Comox Valley with his final church home being Living Hope Christian Fellowship.
