January 3, 1929 - October 20, 2021
Lois was born in Carmangay, Alberta on January 3, 1929, then moved to High River, Alberta where she lived with her parents, Estelle Anastasia (Ruault) and Carl Andrew Stroud and her three brothers, Earl, Milton and Harry. There she met and married her childhood sweetheart Donald McNichol. They both went off to the University of Alberta where Lois graduated from Nursing in 1951. Don went on to join the RCAF and so began their military life. Moving every year or every other year was, as Lois declared, "difficult but always fun." Each new place brought challenges and adventures that Lois embraced, always finding a way to be a part of the community, volunteering, joining clubs, playing bridge.
Lois is survived by her daughters Laurie (Bob) and Suzan (Eric); grandsons Trevor (Jessica) and Shawn (Jaime-Lea); granddaughters Katherine (James), Laura and Andrea; great-grandchildren Nora, Wynn, Lena and Zoë; and her brother Harry Stroud.
Lois died October 20, 2021. Her zest for life was always present, enjoying a get together with her TGIF ladies, line dancing, and family dinners. We will miss her.
