Lois Gail Sorensen York

August 18,1940- November 28, 2014

Our Lois passed away quietly in the late afternoon of November 28, 2014 after a short battle with cancer. Our hearts are full of love and memories to help us carry on...

Mom: Doris Truchon. Sisters: Pat (Garrey) Wooldridge, Elaine (Bev) Wiles and many loving nieces, nephews and families, especially Tami (Shannon) Schmidt and Cathe (Gary) Carter to whom she was ‘other Mom’.

Children: Donalda (Kevin) Woods, Connie Dunphy (Tom), Zena York, Jamie (Tracy) York and their families - Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Cousins: Jeannie/Bill Little, Linda/Fred Kirby and families.

Special friends: Jenny &Brett Devore: Val & Dave Dyke; and many, many friends. We were so happy to be able to care for Lois at home, thanks to the wonderful team of caregivers & nurses. Special thanks to Cathe & Gary for sharing their home to make this possible and to Niece Lonnie for giving so much just when it was needed most. A big, ‘thank you’ to our very caring Dr. Don Curtis!

Lois spent the last several years living a life that she only dreamed possible- full of positive living, having fun and many great experiences- we lived to laugh and learn and to paint lovely pictures! Lois was a gardener extraordinaire- this is a legacy left for us to continue to enjoy.

Listen to those who open the path for you, Listen and don’t say a word. It is time to start my journey for I have seen enough of this world.

Let me go to the garden,to kiss the ground and flow like a river towards the ocean. Let me go from this valley of tears to bring the colours of blossoms to pale faces.

Let me become a beautifully coloured bird and fly to the sweet land of paradise where everything is painted with the brush of those who wait;for it is best to travel with companions on this path.

Let me begin my journey home.
